FRANKFURT, Germany, Feb. 14--Bayern Munich were left clinging onto the Bundesliga leadership on goal difference after suffering a 3-1 defeat at Arminia Bielefeld on Sunday, Reuters said.
Massimilian Porcello tapped in from close range to put mid-table Bielefeld ahead after 23 minutes on a snow-covered pitch and South African striker Delron Buckley made it 2-0 just past the hour.
Brazilian defender Lucio gave Bayern hope with a wonderful free kick but Buckley scored his second of the game and his 13th of the season to clinch victory seven minutes from time.
Bayern remain top with 41 points from 21 games, with Schalke 04 level on points in second place after their excellent 3-0 win at home to VfL Wolfsburg on Saturday.
Werder Bremen, double winners last season, are third with 37 points after a 2-0 win at home to Borussia Moenchengladbach on Saturday.
Bayer Leverkusen climbed to sixth with 35 points thanks to a 2-0 win at home to FSV Mainz in Sunday's other match.
Bayern, who had not conceded a goal in their three previous matches in the new year, were under pressure from the start against an aggressive Bielefeld side.
After a couple of near misses, the home side took the lead when Marcio Borges won a header from a free kick and sent the ball spinning in front of goal for Porcello to side-foot in.
Hasan Salihamidzic was Bayern's only source of inspiration in the first half and his run and cross set up Paolo Guerrero to force a fine point-blank save five minutes later.
There were few other chances for Bayern in a sub-par performance and Buckley deservedly increased the Bielefeld lead when he cracked in from the left in the 61st minute.
Lucio's superb free-kick in the 81st minute briefly raised Bayern but two minutes later Buckley took a long pass from Michael Fink and slipped the ball between Oliver Kahn's legs to clinch the win.

Roddick Triumphant in San Jose Final
SAN JOSE, USA, Feb. 14--World number three Andy Roddick successfully defended his San Jose Open title by destroying unseeded Frenchman Cyril Saulnier 6-0 6-4 in the final on Sunday, Reuters reported.
The top-seeded American never faced a break point as he controlled the match with his mighty serving, huge forehand and aggressive returns.
"I was feeling really good on everything," Roddick told reporters. "It was one of those days that happen maybe five percent a year, where you play really good tennis."
Roddick broke Saulnier in the opening game and never looked back.
The Frenchman raised his game in the second set without managing to get a grip of his opponent's serve.
Roddick broke to lead 2-1 when Saulnier missed an easy forehand pass and he won the final game to love by ripping a winner down the line.
"He didn't give me any chances to come into the match," Saulnier said. "He just played much better. He didn't give me any points."
Roddick had 23 winners, nine of which were aces, and made only eight unforced errors as he claimed his first title since he won in Indianapolis last July.
The 22-year-old Roddick has a 10-1 record this year, his only defeat coming against Lleyton Hewitt in the semi-finals of the Australian Open.
Roddick is the first back-to-back winner here since Australian Mark Philippoussis in 1999-2000.
He struggled all week but finally found his form in his semifinal with German Tommy Haas. He was almost faultless against Saulnier.

Betting Will Top FIFA Agenda
FRANKFURT, Germany, Feb. 14--Betting in football will be at the top of the agenda at next month's meeting of FIFA's executive committee as the sport's governing body looks for ways to prevent further match-fixing scandals, Reuters said.
FIFA President Sepp Blatter, in Frankfurt to open a referees' workshop, said the sport had to take heed of the corruption case that has engulfed German football.
"The German case is a warning shot," Blatter told German magazine Der Spiegel in a interview on Sunday.
"The topic of bets will be the most important thing under discussion at the executive committee meeting on March 7 and 8.
We need information on unusual activity in betting." Robert Hoyzer, the 25-year-old referee at the centre of the scandal, was arrested on Saturday after Berlin prosecutors said new evidence had emerged that he may have been involved in match-fixing prior to 2004.
Hoyzer had already admitted to fixing several matches in the Cup and lower leagues in Germany in return for money from gamblers.
Blatter said he had faith in the game's referees and that the scandal should not affect the 2006 World Cup, which is being hosted by Germany.
"FIFA has absolute confidence in its referees," he said. "We have world-wide over 720,000 referees and there can be a black sheep now and again. "I don't see any problems for the World Cup."

Pebble Beach Title for Mickelson

TORONTO, Feb. 14--US Masters champion Phil Mickelson claimed consecutive PGA Tour titles for the first time in his career with a four-stroke victory at the $5.3 million Pebble Beach National Pro-Am in California on Sunday, Reuters said.
The world number four, seven shots clear at the start of the day, held off a strong challenge from fellow left-hander Mike
Weir as a one-over-par 73 earned his 25th tour win in difficult conditions.
Mickelson, who also triumphed at last week's Phoenix Open, mixed two birdies with three bogeys on the Pebble Beach Golf Links course to finish on 19-under 269, one stroke shy of the tournament record for 72 holes set by fellow American Mark O'Meara in 1997.
"It's been fun, it sure feels great to start this way," said 1998 Pebble Beach winner Mickelson. "I've been playing well the last couple of weeks and I'm excited to get the year started with a couple of wins."
Canadian Weir, the 2003 US Masters champion, had to settle for second place on 15-under after firing a 67, the best round of a cool and blustery day on the picturesque Monterey Peninsula.
Britain's Greg Owen, playing in his first PGA Tour event of the season, was a further two shots back in third place after closing with a 72.
South Africa's Tim Clark (71) built on his brilliant early season form to finish in a tie for fourth with Paul Goydos (71) on 12-under 276.
Early in the round, a smiling Mickelson stretched his advantage to nine shots. But after back-to-back bogeys on the ninth and 10th, concern was written on the 34-year-old's face in the knowledge that Weir was then five back.
Mickelson, however, steadied himself with a birdie and seven consecutive pars to become the first wire-to-wire winner in the 68-year history of the event.
"I'm obviously pleased with my play but it could have been better," said Weir, who will try to carry his momentum over to the Nissan Open which starts on Thursday, a tournament he has won for the last two years.
"I think that was one of the better rounds I've ever played.
But it could have been a very special round if a few shots could have dropped for me."

Austria Hit Alpine Summit Ahead of Turin Olympics
BORMIO, Italy, Feb. 14--Austria planted the flag firmly a year before their Olympic gold medals bid in Turin by dominating the men's competition at the world ski championships which ended here Sunday, AFP reported.
A year before any Olympics it helps to get your house in order--and Croatia and Sweden joined the alpine powerhouse nation with performances which suggest they will be the ones to watch.
All they need now are perfect venues and snow conditionsÑwhich TOROC, the 2006 Olympics organizers, have promised will not be an issue when the 'white circus' rolls into the northern Italian city next February.
"We're facing a year that promises a lot of emotions but we're very optimistic about the Games being 100 percent ready and a huge success," said Evelina Christillin, the deputy president of TOROC.
On Sunday there were mixed feelings for some of the potential contenders on the Sestrieres and San Sicario Olympic pistes.
Austria finished with three golds and 11 medals in total from the 33 on offer while Janica Kostelic, the triple Olympic champion in combined, slalom and giant slalom, was alone in second place after defending her combined and slalom titles and winning what was an historic downhill for Croatia to take her tally of world crowns to five.
The 23-year-old singlehandedly left the United States, who are hoping to be the Austrians' main Olympic threats, down in third place.
Sweden came fourth thanks mainly to 23-year-old Anja Paerson's two golds and a silver, while Germany sneaked onto the table and into fifth place after winning gold in the inaugural team event ahead of Austria and France on the last day.
Germany and France failed in individual events but the championship shocker came courtesy of Switzerland, who won no medals for the first time in nearly 40 years.
Austria eventually responded after a dubious start that saw upstart Bode Miller hit them where it hurt most.
The 27-year-old, who will likely become the first American since Phil Mahre in 1983 to win the overall World Cup, defied Austrian pair Michael Walchhofer and Benjamin Raich in the super-G.
Walchhofer then failed to defend his title as Miller struck again in the downhill to claim his first world crown in the discipline and his fourth overall.

French Cup:
Lyon in Third Round
PARIS, Feb. 14--A late penalty by midfielder Mahamadou Diarra helped league leaders Olympique Lyon clinch a 2-1 victory at Toulouse on Sunday and qualify for the third round of the French Cup, Reuters said.
Diarra scored the winning goal from the spot in the 77th minute after Toulouse goalkeeper Christophe Revault fouled teenage striker Nilmar inside the box.
Lyon went ahead when international Sylvain Wiltord headed home a cross from Florent Malouda in the 65th minute but the hosts equalized seven minutes later when midfielder Stephane Dalmat powered the ball into the net from 25 meters.
Lyon will take on Ligue 2 side Clermont Foot in the last 16.
Struggling Paris St Germain beat Girondins Bordeaux 3-1 later on Sunday and reached French Cup third round.
