A sample of NadalianŐs artwork
Iranian sculptor Ahmad Nadalian is holding an exhibition of his artworks at Tehran’s Mehr Gallery after a lapse of seven years.
Speaking to ISNA, the artist said that he is also holding a workshop titled ’We Want to Survive’, inspired by children’s drawings, at the event.
Nadalian, who has developed a style of his own, features carvings on broken stones since he believes that stones, as parts of the nature, are alive.
Commenting on the theme of his works, he said, “I have always focused on children in my works since the child and particularly the fetus are symbols of life.“
Children portray life in the simplest way and through abstract forms which do not normally correspond with what we see in our surroundings. However, their simple sketches remind us of those of the primitive men and our early life, he added.
The artist noted that many of his sculptures have been inspired by simple lines used in children’s drawings, particularly those of his son.
Nadalian said that human beings can do miracles by employing the arts just like the magic creatures of the centuries gone by.
The event will run until May 27.

The late Rasoul Mollaqolipour
The films ’Six Angles of Empyrean’ and ’Afternoon of the 10th Day’ are two unfinished projects by the late filmmaker Rasoul Mollaqolipour, which will be completed by directors Mojtaba Raei and Reza Mirkarimi.
Announcing this, Manouchehr Mohammadi, producer of the two projects, told FNA that the script for ’Afternoon of the 10th Day’ is ready and has been submitted to Farabi Cinema Foundation for final evaluation.
“I wonder how after three weeks since its submission, Farabi officials have not yet responded,“ he said. The producer noted that the project is time-bound and wished that officials would make prompt decisions in this respect. Commenting on the other project, he said, “The late Mollaqolipour wrote the script for ’Six Angles of Empyrean’ and then we traveled to Iraq to begin shooting. However, he could not continue due to a stroke which lead to his death in 2007.“
He added that Mirkarimi will complete the project which deals with the process of making decorative metallic encasement, or ’Zarih’, for the shrine of Imam Hussein (AS), the third Imam of the infallible household of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), in Karbala, Iraq.
Mohammadi further said that the shooting will resume in late May.

Imam Ali (AS):
Blessings are for the man who humbles himself before Allah, whose sources of income are honest, whose intentions are always honorable, whose character is noble and whose habits are sober.
