Imam Ali (AS):
How true! Our declaration that we belong to Allah indicates that we accept Him as our Master, Owner and Lord. And that we say our return is to Allah indicates we accept our mortality.

Farabi Award for British Iranologist
Renowned British Iranologist Peter Ivery was presented the Farabi International Award for Persian language and literature in a ceremony at the Iranian Embassy in London.
According to IRIBNews, Rasoul Movaheddian, Iran’s ambassador in London, presented the statuette and special award to the scholar.
“Professor Avery is a prominent example of a scholar charmed by the spiritual aspects of Persian poetry. He has experienced love in Hafez school of thought, mysticism in Molana’s ideas and ministration in Ferdowsi’s poetry,“ he said.
On receiving the award, the professor expressed his gratitude for being bestowed such an honor.
“The main joy of my life is association with Iranians whose culture is abound with kindness, wittiness and understanding of human failures and achievements,“ he said.
Among Avery’s most recent books are translations of the anthology of renowned Persian poet Sheikh Mosleheddin Hafez Shirazi. He is also acclaimed for ’Conference of the Birds’, the first complete translation in prose of Attar Neishabouri’s ’Manteq Ol-Tair’.

Asian Art Records Tumble
A work by Chinese artist Zeng Fanzhi sold for $9.5 million on Saturday, a new auction record for an Asian contemporary artwork, at auctioneer Christie’s first evening sale of such art in Hong Kong.
Fanzhi’s large scale 2-by-3.6 meter work entitled ’Mask Series 1996 No. 6,’ sold for almost triple its pre-sale estimate, Reuters said.
Zeng’s diptych of eight masked youths with red scarves linking arms, hints at Mao Zedong’s ’Little Red Guards’ who wreaked havoc across China during its tumultuous Cultural Revolution.
The work, not previously offered at auction, is considered a highlight of Zeng’s ’Mask’ series of ambiguous Chinese figures contending with life under communist rule.
The results suggested the Chinese art market remains resilient despite financial market jitters.
A remarkable surge in demand for Chinese art in recent years has been spurred partly by newly affluent Chinese collectors.
