New helicopter undergoing final tests

The country's latest indigenous helicopter, Homa, is undergoing final tests, a senior official announced on Monday.

"The helicopter has been built by PANHA company and is a 14-seater chopper," Managing Director of Iran's Helicopter Renovation and Logistics Company (PANHA) General Mohammad Ali Ahmadabadi told reporters, Fars News Agency reported.

"Homa has had its test flight and is now undergoing final tests," he added.

Ahmadabadi had announced in January that the PANHA experts would build another fully domestic helicopter in the coming months.

"The production of Iran's domestic helicopter will be 100 percent complete by the end of September 2015," Ahmadabadi said in January.

On November 18, Iran unveiled a new domestic helicopter named Sorena in the 7th International Air and Aviation Industries Exhibition underway on Kish Island in the Persian Gulf.

Sorena is a four-seater helicopter with 300 HP.
