Iranian critic passes away

Prominent Iranian critic Zaven Qukasyan passed away after five months in hospital.

Bijan Safdari, an Iranian poet said that Qukasyan was hospitalized for five months in Austria and then was transferred to Isfahan’s Al-Zahra hospital, Mehr News Agency reported.

Although the critic was transferred to his home a few days ago, he was not in a stable condition.

Safdari spent almost 50 years with the critic and accompanied him in his artistic works.   

Qukasyan was born in 1950, authoring many books and writing several reviews.

He also taught at the Sooreh University  in Tehran and Isfahan's Sepehr University.

He was a prominent film critic for 43 years.
