Rouhani: Iran after increasing trade ties with Turkmenistan

President Hassan Rouhani said here on Tuesday evening before leaving for Turkmenistan that increased trade ties with Iran's northern neighboring country till achieving a satisfactory status is one of his visit's goals.

'In our foreign policy our top priority is expansion of relations with regional and especially neighboring countries,' said the president in a press briefing, adding that during the course of the past 18 months he has had three meetings with his counterpart from Turkmenistan in Tehran, Dushanbe, and Gorgan, a city north of Iran.
President Rouhani said that this visit is in fact in response to President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow's visit of Tehran and on his invitation.
