Nearly 300 Nigerian girls were abducted by Boko Haram since April 14 last year without any success to rescue them, The Guardian reported.
In furtherance of effort to capture Sambisa forest, Nigerian troops of 3 and 7 Divisions of the Nigerian Army recaptured Bita, Izge Yamteke and Uba towns in Askira Uba and Damboa local council areas of Borno State.
According to a statement issued and made available to The Guardian by Acting Director, Army Public Relations, Colonel Sani Kukasheka Usman a soldier paid the supreme price while 10 others sustained various degrees of injury during the encounter.
Supported by the Nigerian Air Force in the battle, Nigerian troops sent many terrorists packing from their captured towns and also recovered various types of ammunition.
