She said holding the FIFF should be considered as positive for Iran's cultural affairs, Mehr News Agency said.
"Interaction between Iranian and international filmmakers will provide a better cultural ambience for mutual progress," she said.
World's cinematography experts will have the chance to be introduced to Iranian cinema and this will definitely be beneficial for the country's cinema industry, she noted.
Derakhshandeh is an Iranian film director, producer, screen writer and researcher.
Her films include 'Relationship' (1986), 'A Little Bird of Happiness' (1987), 'Passing Through the Dust' (1988), 'Lost Time' (1989), 'Love Without Frontier' (1998), 'Candle in the Wind' (2003), 'Eternal Children' (2006) and 'Hush! Girls Don't Scream' (2013).
The 33rd FIFF will be held from April 25 to May 2 in Tehran.
Over 300 films have been submitted to the festival from countries including Austria, Germany, Switzerland, France, Britain, Ireland, the US, Belgium, Italy, and Turkey.
This is the first year that international section of FIFF will be held separately from the national section.
