Hamid Hosseini, a former member of the Board of Directors of Iran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture, added the team is scheduled to return to Iran next week, Mehr News Agency reported.
He noted the delegation, which has been in the US for the past two weeks, includes entrepreneurs, traders, businesswomen and artists. "They intend to present a vivid and real picture of Iran which has been malignantly distorted in recent decades."
He stressed that the delegation is not political, adding its members also intend to study opportunities to promote cooperation.
"Iranian and American traders are keen on boosting trade ties. This is while, the US-engineered sanctions on Tehran have created a great deal of problems for them. Otherwise, Iran's laws and the government do not prohibit Iranians from selling or purchasing goods to or from American traders and companies."
The team is in the US at the invitation of a non-governmental American institute 'Learning', he said.
Hosseini concluded that during the visit, the delegation will hold meetings in San Francisco and Washington.
