Iran Ordibehesht (May) Theater Celebration comes to an end today at Tehran Pardis Theater Complex.
According to the Managing Director of Tehran Pardis Theater Mehdi Mahmoud Aqdam the closing ceremony will be attended by cultural figures, artists and officials including Culture Minister Ali Jannati and his deputy for artists affairs, Ali Moradkhani.
Aqdam, who is also the secretary of Tehran's Cultural and Tourism Centers Group, said the event includes theater performance in the open themed 'Blue Sky, Clean Earth'.
Veteran theater artists such as Bahram Reihani will be honored on the sidelines of the event.
Artist Morshed Varmazyar will recite traditional stories from Shahnameh (Book of Kings) by Abolqassem Ferdowsi.
The public can also attend the workshops on creative theatrical performance, make-up, puppet making, pantomime and pottery.
Over 30 top artists from Tehran and other provinces will take part in the gala. They include Farhad Nazerzadeh Kermani, Ali Nassirian, Davoud Rashidi, Iraj Rad, Ezzatollah Entezami, Jamshid Mashayekhi, Akbar Zanjanpour and Hamidreza Naeimi.
Among the event's highlights are: Artist Amir Karbalaei’s stand-up comedy, Pish-Pardehkhani (narration) and Ta'zieh (Ashura Passion Play).
Iran Ordibehesht (May) Theater Celebration is held annually during the second Iranian month (April 21-May 21) in cooperation with Iran Dramatic Arts Center and the provincial departments of culture and Islamic guidance.
