Chabahar Free Zone welcomes UAE investors

Managing director of Chabahar Free Zone in southern Iran said Tuesday that the presence of UAE investors in this economic hub is warmly welcomed.

Hamed Ali Mobaraki, who is in the UAE to attend a conference on investment in Iranian free zones, was speaking to IRNA in Dubai.

The conference was attended by Akbar Torkan, a senior advisor to President Hassan Rouhani and Iran's ambassador to UAE Mohammadreza Fayyaz and a number of Iranian merchants.

Referring to the age-old ties between Iran and the Persian Gulf littoral states, Mobaraki pointed out that Chabahar, as the most important Iranian port located outside the Persian Gulf, not only has easy access to international waterways but also provides the closest route to Central Asian countries for transit of goods.

He said that dozens of foreign companies from Europe, China, Oman and South Korea have invested in the free zone.
