Iranian designs new aircraft seat

An Iranian researcher at Malaysian National University has designed and built the new aircraft seats, making passengers more comfortable. Alireza Yaqoubi has reduced the seat’s weight considerably.

He has also reduced the plane’s fuel consumption, creating less pollution, ISNA reported.

Yaqoubi has won an international award for his design. He is also working on nanomaterial projects jointly with researchers from Belgium, Taiwan and France. He received James Dyson design award for aircraft seat in 2012.

The design has led to building a new generation of aircraft seats known as AirGo.

The newly-designed seat has less weight compared to similar models, he said, adding reducing the weight could help reduce fuel consumption and production of carbon dioxide gas.
