Muharram military drills open in west, northwest of Iran

Iranian Army started Muharram maneuver in the western and northwestern Iran on Monday.

The drills are being carried out by the Ground Force, Air Force, and Khatm-ul-Anbia Air Defense Headquarters, IRNA reported.

Yesterday, Commander of Army's Ground Force Brigadier General Ahmad Reza Pourdastan said long-range drones will be employed during the Muharram maneuver.

Pourdastan stressed that the range of Iranian army drones have been improved.

Meanwhile, Army's Executive Deputy Commander Brigadier General Mohammad Mahmoudi told reporters on Saturday Oct. 17, that it is a hard and tough rapid response maneuver in which defensive, radar, and missile systems, Air Force bases, commandos, Army Air force, and UAV units will take part .

Mahmoudi said the two-day wargames have a security-defensive approach and will employ Army's latest achievements.
