India 'Chasing the Time' with Biswas

A solo show of a series of paintings by Mithu Biswas, one of the most recent impressionist Indian artists, will be held in Mumbai, in the Indian state of Maharashtra.

Titled 'Chasing the Time', which is a series of paintings focusing on horses, the exhibition will be held from November 2-7 at Kamalnayan Bajaj Art Gallery in Mumbai, Mehr News Agency reported.

Talking about her show and works, she says: "When I was very young, my parents always told me not to waste time. Now, I realize the importance of time in life. In my paintings, I try to represent the value of time in our life. That's the way I come up with the series of canvas 'Chasing the Time'."

The concept of the painting is that the horses are trying to chase the time which never stop.

Born in Kolkata in the Indian state of West Bengal, in 1979, Biswas was fond of art since her early days. She graduated in fine art from the Government College of Art and Craft, Kolkata in 2004. In 2009 she came to Maharastra, and established a permanent studio in Mumbai.
