Yemen’s al-Masirah TV said on Saturday that the warship was successfully targeted as it was sailing off the coast of Mocha in the Red Sea.
It was not immediately clear how the allied forces managed to sink the vessel but it came hours after two Saudi boats were destroyed in the same area by rounds of Katyusha rockets fired from the positions of Ansarullah and the Yemeni army on the mainland.
Masirah said the Saudi warship was completely destroyed in the Saturday attack, adding that it was the fourth naval ship belonging to the regime in Riyadh and its allies that have been drowned over the past months.
Saudi Arabia has deployed its vessels around the coasts of Yemen in an attempt to support its airstrikes and to maintain a crippling blockade on the poorest nation of the Arabian Peninsula.
Ansarullah’s attacks on Saudi positions both in sea and on the kingdom’s southern territories are aimed at retaliating against the seven-month-long airstrikes, which have killed over 7,000 people and displaced more than one million since March 26.
Earlier in the day, Yemeni forces launched a series of rocket attacks against Saudi military bases in the southwestern province of Jizan. They also fired a barrage of rockets at the Tuwal and al-Khowjarah military bases in the Saudi border region on Friday.
The Yemeni forces also carried out retaliatory attacks targeting several Saudi army posts on al-Doud Mountains along the border.
