Gharibpour, who is the conductor of the opera, added that the puppets for the opera are being designed in two dimensions, elaborating that the opera will have the highest number performances compared to his earlier performances, ISNA reported.
"Khayyam's popularity in Europe and the US made me consider the use of foreign singers to perform his quartets in English, German and Arabic languages," he added.
The opera will include parts of the Persian poet's life and thoughts as well as his impacts on Iranians and people all over the world, he noted.
Speaking on the story which will be narrated in the oncoming opera, Gharibpour said that the story begins with Khayyam's philosophical and intellectual maturity in which his thoughts will oppose the outside world and Hassan Sabah's movement.
Amir Behzad is responsible for composing the music for the opera.
Gharibpour is considered one of the pioneers of traditional Persian puppet theater, known for his extensive research on Qajar puppetry.
He has staged his Qajar style puppet play with Aran Puppet Theater Group in a number of domestic and foreign festivals.
His better-known works are 'Macbeth', 'Molavi', 'Ashura' as well as 'Rostam and Sohrab'.
The Iranian director has been presented the Italian Chevalier Honor by Ambassador Mauro Conciatori in recognition of his cultural activities and promoting Iran-Italy ties.
