On Thursday, the Iranian squad suffered a 4-8 loss from the Chinese outfit in a match played at China National Goalball Training Center in the eastern Chinese city of Hangzhou.

China’s national goalball team managed to secure a berth in the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games with the win.

Iranian visually-challenged athletes defeated their South Korean opponents 4-3 in a highly competitive semi-final showdown on Wednesday

The 2015 IBSA Goalball Asia/Pacific Goalball Championships started in Hangzhou, China, on November 8, and finished on November 12.

Goalball is a team sport designed specifically for male and female athletes with a visual impairment. Participants compete in teams of three, and try to throw a ball that has bells embedded in it into the opponents' goal.

Teams alternate throwing or rolling the ball from one end of the playing area to the other, and players remain in the area of their own goal in both defense and attack. Players must use the sound of the bell to judge the position and movement of the ball. Games consist of two 12-minute halves.
