Prague to host Iranian Film Festival

The Fifth Prague Iranian Film Festival will be held in Prague and Brno, the largest cities in the Czech Republic, and Bratislava, the capital of Slovakia.

The festival will be held from January 30-February 13, 2016. As in earlier editions, a panel of jury, made up of noted international figures, will judge the Iranian films in the documentary and feature sections.

The festival's three main prizes include award for the best narrative feature film, award for the best documentary and award for the best film selected by the audience. The awards will be presented at the event's closing ceremony.

In the upcoming edition, two noted Afghan cinema figures will host the festival's Afghanistan Cinema Nights.

Conferences will also be held on the cinema industry and joint Iran-Europe productions.

Iranian Film Festival was first held in 2012 with the presentation of Iranian films focusing on women. The event has now turned into one of the most well-received events in Prague introducing Iranian art and artists.

In the festival's fifth edition, interested individuals will also get familiar with other Iranian arts including theater, painting, music and graphic designs.

The Iranian Film Festival will be organized by Media Nest Company in cooperation with Advanced Media Trading Company.
