Alireza Ebadi further told Shana, "Given that the offshore section is not yet ready and is to be completed in the year to March 2017, if the weather conditions are suitable, the refinery will be launched using gas from phases 6 to 8."
He added, "We are conducting leakage tests of sweetening units in phases 21 and 22 and will be ready to receive gas as soon as the tests are completed."
The onshore refinery is ready to receive gas but the offshore refinery is behind schedule due to the sanctions and the ban on the import of certain equipment, Ebadi added. "We hope that with the implementation of JCPOA, the goods will be imported soon."
In the onshore section, physical progress of over 80 percent has been achieved in the project to establish refinery's platforms and pipelines, the official said.
