10-month trade balance positive

Iran Customs Administration (ICA) reported on Sunday that Iran's trade balance for the period March 21, 2015-January 20, 2016 was positive.

Iran exported non-oil goods worth $36.61 billion during the 10-month period, showing a decline of 15.87 percent against the figure for the corresponding period of the preceding year, IRNA reported.

The country also imported commodities valued at $33.84 billion during the period which showed a 22.32-percent decrease compared to the figure for the same time span last year.

Gas condensates, petrochemicals, industrial products, traditional goods and carpets constituted the main export items during the period.

The main export destinations for Iranian goods in the aforementioned period were China, Iraq, the United Arab Emirates and Afghanistan.

Imports included rice, soybean and automobile parts. The UAE, China, South Korea and India were the major exporters to Iran during the period.
