Russian Tourism Office aims to expand ties

Russian Tourism Office in Iran will promote tourism ties between the two countries, said Russian Ambassador to Tehran Levan Dzhagaryan.


Speaking at the inauguration ceremony of Russian National Tourism Office at the Russian Embassy in Tehran, the ambassador said that in the past Iranian tourists used to visit just a few Russian cities, but the new office would offer services for Iranian tourists who wish to visit other parts of Russia, including Crimea, according to IRNA.

Also, at the ceremony, Head of Russia's State Agency for Tourism Oleg Safonov expressed pleasure with the opening of the Russian Tourism Office and appreciated Iranian officials for extending close cooperation in this respect.

He said that Iran enjoys security and is a friendly country with a long history, adding Russian Tourism Office will provide information for Iranian tourists about tourist sites in Russia.

Deputy Head of Iran Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization for Tourism Affairs Morteza Rahmani-Movahhed said that the opening of the Russian Tourism Office has paved the way for further cooperation between Iran and Russia.

He thanked the Russian Embassy for taking such a big step to develop tourism.

Rahmani-Movahhed said that preparatory works for opening Iran's national tourism bureau in Russia are underway and hopefully it will open in a few months.
