Russia's first Qur'anic website launched

The first Qur'anic website in Russian was launched by Russia's Islamic Studies Foundation.

It is a specialized website in the field of Qur'an, Qur'anic sciences and interpretation, according to the foundation, reported IQNA.

In the first phase, the website introduces major Qur'anic topics, including the Qur'an itself, its Russian translation, interpretation and recitation.

Visitors also have access to a library of digital Qur'anic books, a Qur'an encyclopedia, introduction of the Surahs (chapters) of the Qur'an, and a Qur'anic questions section.

More sections will be added gradually.

Those who speak Russian can visit the website at http://alquran.ru/.

Islam is the second most widely professed religion in the Russian Federation. There are around 25 million Muslims in Russia. By 2020, Muslims will account for one-fifth of the entire population of Russia.
