Amir Mashhadi-Abbas, the play's director, said he is also to stage a short adaptation of 'Romeo and Juliet' by William Shakespeare, in the event to commemorate the British writer.
He added that 'Pint-Sized' had earlier been staged successfully in Tehran, Shiraz (Fars province) and Zahedan (Sistan-Baluchestan province).
The play is to take part in the festival which is slated for October 31-November 14, Mehr News Agency reported.
'Pint-Sized' will be staged on November 7 in the event's competition section, he noted.
World Puppet Theater Festival, which is among the biggest international puppet event, is held annually in a different country.
Earlier editions of the festival were held in Kazakhstan and Turkey.
Mashhadi-Abbas said, "This year, 100 works from 80 countries are to compete in the festival. The fest has other sections including film, street theater and performance. Prominent theater groups are to take part in the event which provides us with a valuable opportunity to meet them, benefit from their experiences and show our potentials."
The Iranian director said his work is a silent play which is about a newborn who is supposed to be looked after by his father for one day. However, the infant creates a great deal of trouble for him, he added.
He said he made use of the origami technique in making the play's stage equipments which further strengthen audience's connection with the work, he said.
'Pint-Sized' is a production of 'Seven, Five, One' theater group. The cast includes Behnaz Mehdikhah and Hamidreza Hosseinali.
