'The Last Fiction' the first Iranian animation invited to Cannes

The Cannes-based Annecy International Animated Film Festival for the first time called on an Iranian animation – 'The Last Fiction'.

The Iranian entry along with three top animations from Poland, France and Colombia-Germany will be presented to international distributors and producers, IRNA reported.

'The Last Fiction' needs up to eight months more to prep for the prestigious event.

Picked as one of six top works by the festival in 2013, 'The Last Fiction' is a Hoorakhsh Studio production directed by Ashkan Rahgozar and produced by Ehsan Rasulov.

Over 100 animators worked on this piece of art.

'The Last Fiction' recalls the story of Zahhak — an evil figure in Iranian mythology — will be offered to the Cannes market on May 14.
