President discusses ties with new envoys

President Hassan Rouhani met new ambassadors from France, Indonesia, Azerbaijan, Slovakia in Tehran on Tuesday.

In separate meetings, the president received the credentials of the new ambassadors, discussing ways to further broaden relations, reported.

In a meeting with French envoy François Sénémaud, Rouhani called for efforts to immediately carry out the agreements that Tehran and Paris have signed in recent months, saying it will promote cooperation between the two countries, particularly their private sectors, Tasnim News Agency reported.

The president hailed a new chapter in relations between Tehran and Paris, noting that coming into force of the deals will further boost the bilateral ties.

He also highlighted the major role that Iran and France can play in consolidating peace and stability in the Middle East.

The French ambassador also voiced his country’s resolve to deepen ties with Iran in all fields, saying the French government and private sector are eager to work with Iran in development projects.


Envoy to Abuja meets president


Also the new Iranian Ambassador to Nigeria Morteza Rahimi Zarchi met President Rouhani before leaving on his mission.

During the meeting, the president wished the new envoy successful mission.

He underscored attempting to develop Iran’s ties with African countries, especially Nigeria in all fields related to economy, culture and politics.

 Rahimi Zarchi gave a report to the president on Nigeria and his plans and programs during his mission.
