Iran plans 10 new petchem complexes by March

Iran plans to launch 10 new petrochemical complexes by March, 2017, said the head of National Petrochemical Company (NPC).

Marzieh Shahdaei made the remarks at the inauguration ceremony of sulfuric acid production unit of Orumieh Petrochemical Complex in northwest Iran, Shana reported.

She further announced that the private sector is scheduled to invest $20 million in the potassium sulfate production unit of Orumieh Petrochemical Complex which will have an annual production capacity of 40,000 tons.

Shahdaei noted that some of the new petrochemical complexes are located along the West Ethylene Pipeline.

A chain of other production units including the production units of ammonium sulfate and potassium sulfate can also be added to the Orumieh Petrochemical Complex, she added.

President Hassan Rouhani attended the inauguration ceremony of sulfuric acid production unit of Orumieh Petrochemical complex via video conference.
