In a report, Oil Ministry's Planning Department elaborated on the ministry's achievements and the steps taken to increase oil recovery from joint oilfields in the West Karoun region in the year to March 19, Shana reported.
The report confirmed Iran's efforts to raise recovery of crude oil from fields that it shares with neighboring countries.
It pointed to the revision of contracts with developers of the fields, expulsion of a Chinese developer from South Azadegan Oilfield, devising contracts with new developers and raising the number of oil rigs from 3 to 18 in the region as among the measures taken by the ministry to raise crude recovery from joint oilfields.
Furthermore the launching of the second phase of early production project at Yadavaran with a daily production of 50,000 bpd of crude oil in 2014 was another achievement of the ministry, the report concluded.
