Yemen forces fire ballistic missile at pro-Hadi base

Yemen's Ansarullah movement forces launched a ballistic missile at an army base held by troops loyal to the former Yemeni president Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi.

According to reports, around 180 troops, including foreign mercenaries, were killed in the Saturday attack in the Bab el-Mandeb region in the country’s southwestern province of Ta'izz, Press TV reported.

Such attacks were carried out in retaliation for Saudi Arabia’s aggression against Yemen which was launched on March 26, 2015 in a bid to reinstate Hadi, a staunch ally of Riyadh, and defeat the Houthi Ansarullah movement.

Earlier, Saudi artillery fire targeted a residential area in Sabr district of Ta'izz, resulting in the deaths of nine civilians. At least 10 civilians also lost their lives after Saudi fighter jets struck a residential area in Nihm district of the capital Sana'a.

The ballistic attack happened one day after at least five people, among them women and children, were killed and a dozen others wounded when Saudi warplanes struck a vehicle traveling along a road in the Harib al-Qaramish district of Yemen’s central province of Ma’rib.

According to Yemeni sources, more than 9,400 people have been killed and at least 16,000 others sustained injuries since the onset of the aggression.
