According to Yonhap News Agency, the nationwide festival is scheduled to kick off on Sept. 29 for a 33-day run and will involve three themes: Two bargain sales events for domestic and foreign shoppers, according to the website.
The culture festival section, which runs from Oct. 1-30 across the country, will include 52 cultural events involving Korean pop culture as well as provincial governments.
Manufacturers and retailers in the fields like home appliances, cosmetics, clothing and food will join the shopping sections to provide bargain deals, according to the website.
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy are co-hosting the shopping and tourist festival.
This year's festival was rebranded from the name used last year, which was ‘Korea Black Friday’.
