The province exported 42,117 kilograms of saffron during March 20-August 21, showing a growth of 105 percent compared to figure for the same five-month period last year.
Customs Supervisor of Khorasan Razavi Province Masoud Atefi also put the value of exported saffron at $60.231 million noting that figure indicates a 115-percent growth against the amount for the same time frame last year, IRNA reported.
The official further said that 1.449 million tons of pistachio were exported from the province during the five-month period, which is 277 percent higher than the figure for the same period last year.
Atefi put the value of the exported pistachio at $11.991 million.
Khorasan Razavi Province exported goods to the tune of 825,433 tons valued at $433 million during the period, he said.
The main export destinations of the province were Afghanistan, Turkmenistan, the UAE, Iraq, Tajikistan, Spain, Kazakhstan, China, Uzbekistan, Kirgizstan, Hong Kong, Pakistan, Lebanon, Italy, France, Sweden, Kuwait, Qatar, India and Turkey, Atefi concluded.
