Nano products exported to 17 countries

Export of Iran's nano-products to 17 countries was valued at $35 million in the year to March 19, announced the secretary for Iran Nanotechnology Initiative Council affiliated to the Vice Presidency for Science and Technology, on Thursday.

"Not only has Iran excelled in nano-science, but also in developing the technology and its application into new and various products. In that respect, Iran is among the top countries in nano-science in the world," Sa'eed Sarkar told IRNA.

No country can compete with Iran in the field of nanotechnology in the Middle East, Sarkar noted, adding, however, developed countries may look down on Iran in the field of new technologies and consider it a developing country.

"What we are seeking is to change this mentality about Iran," he noted.

Iran has made improvements in developing nano-products in textile industry, detergent industry, agriculture and construction, Sarkar concluded.
