Iran, Benin discuss relations

Iran's Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif held talks with visiting Minister of State for Planning and Development of Benin Abdoulaye Bio Tchane in Tehran on Sunday to explore avenues for the enhancement of bilateral relations.

The two ministers reviewed bilateral cooperation in the political, economic and academic fields as well as stronger cooperation in banking and agriculture sectors, IRNA reported.

They also exchanged views on ways of combating terrorism and explored avenues for boosting cooperation in international organizations.

Abdoulaye Bio Tchane also delivered a written message of Beninese president for his Iranian counterpart to Zarif.

Expansion of relations with African nations in all fields is top on the agenda of Iran's foreign policy.

Iran's President Hassan Rouhani has repeatedly stressed his administration’s interest in boosting relations with African states.
