In Group A, El Jaish of Qatar ranked first while Iran’s Gachsaran Oil and Gas finished in the second place. Both teams cruised to the next round.
Al-Noor of Saudi Arabia and Lekhwiya of Qatar outpowered their rivals in the preliminary round to get tickets to the semifinals.
Today, the Jordanian capital of Amman will host two semifinal showdowns between two Qatari title hopefuls Lekhwiya and El Jaish as well as Gachsaran Oil and Gas and Al-Noor.
On Saturday, the Iranian side was held to a 35-all draw against UAE's Al Jazira in a close and thrilling Group A encounter staged in Amman.
Later, however, Iranians conceded a 28-37 defeat against El Jaish in their second group stage match on Sunday.
On Tuesday, the Persian side earned a sweeping 26-23 victory over Jordan’s al-Ahli to become a semifinalist.
The 19th edition of Asian Men’s Club League Championship opened on October 29 and will run until November 5, 2016.
Gachsaran Oil and Gas was pooled in Group A along with El Jaish, Al Jazira and Jordan's al-Ahli while Group B comprised Lekhwiya, Bahrain’s al-Ahli, al-Noor and Oman's Ahli Sidab.
