Iran's Shekari close to signing Rostov

Iranian rising star Reza Shekari is on the verge of joining Russian Premier League club Rostov.

The 19-year-old attacking midfielder will join the top-flight team after undergoing its medical exam, Tasnim News Agency reported.

Shekari has already caught the eye of English Premier League side Leicester City and Swiss Super League club FC Basel.

In 2015, The Guardian named Shekari as one of the best 50 young talents in the world.

In 2015, he joined Iranian Persian Gulf Pro League club Zob Ahan Esfahan on a three-year contract and made his debut for the Isfahan-based team in a league fixture against Sepahan.

Shekari scored his first professional goal on November 4, 2015 in a match in the Iranian knockout cup, also dubbed "Hazfi Cup" against Persepolis, which ended in a 2-0 victory for his side.
