‘Oblivion Season’ trailer wins award at Phoenix Film Festival Melbourne

Iranian movie ‘Oblivion Season’, directed by Abbas Rafei, won the best trailer award at the Phoenix Film Festival Melbourne, in Australia.

The award was the fifth for the movie’s trailer.

Produced by Masoud Farjam, the trailer of award-winning movie 'Oblivion Season' has so far grabbed many awards of the Best Trailer at TMFF, Indie FEST, Bucharest ShortCut Cinefest and California Independent Film Festival.

The movie has also won awards in several categories including best film at the Third Annual Rahway International Film Festival in northeastern New Jersey in early September.

'Oblivion Season' is about a woman who starts a new life by marrying her lover but leaving the shadow of her dark past turns out not to be as easy as it had seemed beforehand. Now she finds herself the prisoner of her lover and in order to earn her freedom she must fight with the male-dominated society.

The Phoenix Film Festival Melbourne is interested not just in films with potential commercial success but films of artistic merit and scope. The goal is to build a festival that will be on par with Sundance, Cannes, and other major festivals but geared to the truly independent filmmaker, actor, and script writer. Giving them opportunities and opening doors that would not otherwise be open to them.
