MAPNA group of companies has invested over $92 million in the project. The wind farm will be able to meet 15 percent of Iran's electricity demand, Fars News Agency reported.
The wind farm has 22 turbines with an electricity generation capacity of up to 100 MW.
According to the provincial officials, Qazvin has the capacity to generate 4,000 MW of electricity using renewable wind and solar energies.
In early February, Chitchian said that the Economy Ministry had approved multi-billion-dollar foreign investments in Iran's renewable energies.
"Applications for foreign investment in Iran's renewable energies to the tune of $3 billion have been approved by the ministry," he noted.
He reiterated that foreigners have so far applied to invest in projects to generate 1,500 megawatts of energy from renewable sources in Iran which have been approved by the Economy Ministry.
Also in mid-October, Chitchian in a meeting with First Vice President of the Senate of the Czech Republic Premysl Sobotka in Tehran called for boosting cooperation between the two countries on renewable energies.
