'Ascribed Achievement' to go on screen in Athens, Birmingham

Iranian animated movie 'Ascribed Achievement', directed by Samaneh Shojaei, will be screened in the Greek capital, Athens and in Birmingham, the UK.

Greece will host the 12th Athens Animfest 2017 from March 16 to 22 while Flatpack Film Festival will run from April 4 to 9 April in Birmingham, Mehr News Agency reported.

The Athens event will display more than 350 animated short and long films from 35 countries later.

Since 2006 Flatpack has been lighting up Birmingham every spring, with one-of-a-kind events and screenings to be found in spaces across the city.

Flatpack No.11 will mainly take place in the city center and Southside. The festival has been described by impartial observers as "the best week of the year to be in Birmingham", the festival's website said.

'Ascribed Achievement' narrates the story of a boy, who is dissatisfied with his appearance and hereditary traits and decides to end his life. But his failed suicide attempt creates a new situation in his life.

The film is a new experience with grotesque narration and real images.
