Iraqi Golden Leaf award goes to Iran's 'Alan'

Iranian short 'Alan', directed by Mostafa Gandomkar, won the Best Kurdish Short Film Award (Golden Leaf) at the 5th Duhok International Film Festival in Iraq.

'Alan' is a 20-minute Iranian short film in Kurdish language dealing with the relocation of Kurdish, Syrian and Iraqi families by war. The film narrates the story of a day in the life of Abdullah, Reyhan and and their kid Alan prior to their relocation, Mehr News Agency wrote.

Gandomkar's film, along with three other flicks 'Gaze' by Farnoush Samadi, 'From Hasakah with Love' directed by Mohammad Farahani, and 'Achieve' by Mohammadreza Minapour, represented Iran at the two competition sections of Duhok film festival.

The fifth edition of Duhok International Film Festival was held from September 9 to 16, 2017 in Iraq.
