Iran’s humanitarian aid arrives in Aleppo

Iran’s humanitarian aid arrives in Aleppo

A convoy of humanitarian aid sent from Iran arrived in the eastern countryside of Syria’s Aleppo Province on Tuesday.

The convoy consists of 10 trucks, said member of the Executive Office of the Aleppo Governorate’s Council Abdul-Ghani Qassab, adding that the aid weighs 200 tons and includes relief and food stuff, clothes, medicines and stationery, SANA reported.

Qassab noted that the aid came in the framework of the friendly relations between the people of Syria and Iran.

The humanitarian aid will be distributed among residents of the rural eastern areas of Aleppo, who suffered from attacks by the Daesh terrorist group.

In December 2016, the Syrian forces backed by Russian airstrikes liberated the northern city of Aleppo.

Iran has also been providing advisory support to the Syrian Army in its fight against the terrorist groups.

Syria has been the scene of violent clashes since March 2011, when foreign-backed terrorists launched their attacks to wreak havoc in the Arab country.
