Iranian documentary wins special award in Russian festival

Iranian documentary 'Suzangerd', directed by Masoumeh Nour-Mohammadi, won the special award of Best Film at the scientific films section of the 4th Zero Plus International Film Festival.

The festival was held from September 30 to October 7 in Tyumen, Russia, ISNA wrote.

Nine films from Russia, the United States, Brazil, China, Mexico, Poland, Finland, Turkey and South Korea competed with 'Suzangerd' in this category.

The Iranian documentary tells the story of a unique carpet of the Safavid era that has been taken to Japan for display as the symbol of beauty and power at the 1,000-year ceremony called Gion Matsuri Festival.

The festival is aimed at promoting and popularizing high-quality films, which foster a positive, creative and formative worldview in children and young people, strengthen the common human values and integration of cinema and education by creating a collection of value-oriented films for carrying out educational screenings in schools and social institutions of Russia.
