CBI officials attend annual meeting of IMF in Washington

Central Bank of Iran announced on Thursday that CBI chief's deputies for economic and international affairs will attend the annual meeting of International Monetary Fund (IMF).

They are to consult ways to expand banking ties and removing existing obstacles with the economic officials of other states, IRNA reported.

The meeting will take place in Washington DC, US, on October 13-15 and representatives from monetary and financial bodies from all around the world will attend the meeting, so it would be an opportunity to exchange viewpoints and hold bilateral meetings.

In annual meeting of IMF and World Bank in addition to officials from central banks and ministers of finance, economic activists from banks and financial institutes will gather to hold talks and exchange views on different issues.

Deputies of Central Bank of Iran governor are to attend meeting of Group 24 member countries to coordinate their stances on international monetary and financial affairs.

Group 24 member countries include Iran, Pakistan, Philippines, Sri Lanka, Syria, Lebanon from Asia and Brazil, Argentina, Mexico, Venezuela, Colombia , Peru, Guatemala, Trinidad and Tobago from Latin America and South Africa, Egypt, Algeria, Nigeria, Congo, Ivory Coast and Ghana from Africa and China, Saudi Arabia and Morocco are as observers in the meeting.

Economic Minister Masoud Karbasian and CBI Governor Valiollah Seif are heading Iranian delegation to the meeting and Head of Investment Organization and economic-technical assistance Mohammad Khazaei and Deputy economy minister for economic affairs Hossein Mir Shojaeyan are members of the delegation.
