Americans not banned from Iran economy: Iranian VP

Tehran has never told the Americans not to enter the Iranian markets, a top Iranian official said on Saturday.

“These are the Americans who have barred themselves from economic engagement with Iran,” First Vice-President Es’haq Jahangiri said, addressing a ceremony held in Tehran to mark Iran's 21st National Exports Day, MNA reported.

“The US officials, by adopting wrong policies, have banned the American companies from cooperating with Iran, “Jahangiri added.

Referring to recent remarks of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, the government official said that Iran has no problem to engage with any country in the world, except for one country and one regime.

Iran is willing to widen ties with the world, he said.

Elaborating on the country's economic plans, he also said that Tehran intends to provide countries that buy Iranian commodities $2 billion in credits.

The 21st ceremony on the National Exports Day, kicked off in the Iranian capital on Saturday (October 21) with participation of Jahangiri and Minister of industry, Mine and Trade Mohammad Shariatmadari.
