Tremor jolts western Iran

An earthquake measuring 4.6 on the Richter scale jolted Kuzaran City, Kermanshah Province, western Iran, on Friday night.

According to the Seismological Center of the Geophysics Institute of Tehran University, the tremor occurred at 23:47 hours local time (20:17 GMT) in an area located at 34.39 degrees latitude and 46.64 degrees longitude and in the depth of 8 kilometers, IRNA reported.

On November 12, a large-scale earthquake measuring at 7.3 on Richter scale hit western Iran causing massive damages and casualties.

The massive jolt, which also rocked other western provinces of Iran and areas in eastern Iraq, was also felt as far as Persian Gulf states of Qatar and Kuwait in the south, the Occupied Palestine in the west, and Turkey in the north of the quake-stricken Iran and Iraq.
