Turkish airline Atlasglobal was granted the 4-Star Airline Award by Skytrax, the international air transport rating organization.
Chairman of the Board of Atlasglobal Murat Ersoy received the certificate from Skytrax CEO Edward Plaisted in a ceremony attended by Turkish and foreign journalists in Istanbul on Tuesday.
‘‘It is an honor for me to receive the 4-Star Airline Award,’’ said Ersoy, adding it is also an honor that Skytrax, which holds a unique status in the industry, presented the award to the airline.
‘‘From our ground services to cabin crew, every single one of us works to ensure that the Atlasglobal brand is represented to the highest possible standards. We are the airline, which ‘loves its passengers the most’ and is also ‘loved by our passengers the most’. To preserve this unique character, we continue to ensure that the products and services we provide to our passengers are always of the highest quality. It has been three years since we have unleashed ourselves on to the global scheduled flight market, and now we have achieved such an important award at the first assessment of our airline. We move forward on this path to excellence.’’
Atlasglobal made its first scheduled domestic flight in 2004 and in 2015, in its ongoing quest to become a global airline, it implemented the wave system of scheduling and put in place the ‘hub and spoke’ system with Istanbul at its center.
Iran a ‘lucrative market’
In response to the Iran Daily’s question about the airline’s future plan for meeting the high demand by the Iranian people and its flights to cities other than Tehran, Ersoy said Iran is very important to Atlasglobal as 40 percent of the country speak in Azari language.
He also mentioned that Iran is a lucrative market and the airline will increase its flights to the neighboring country, adding that Atlasglobal plans to launch flights to main cities of the country including Isfahan, Mashhad and Tabriz.
