Iran, Poland to perform joint concert

Iran and Poland will hold a joint concert entitled, ‘Two Friends’ on December 17, which coincides with Rumi’s World Anniversary.

Organized by Iran’s Arasbaran Cultural Center, the Karaj Philharmonic Orchestra and Mariusz Kolueh will stage a concert which will be conducted by Siamak Kalantari.

The orchestra began its work in 2015 and ‘Two Friends’ will be its third concert performed in recent months, IRNA reported.

All the musical pieces are composed by Siamak Kalantari.

Rumi was born to native Persian-speaking parents, originally from the Balkh city of Khorasan, in present-day Afghanistan.

Rumi’s father was a theologian, jurist and a mystic from Balkh, who was also known by the followers of Rumi as Sultan al-Ulama or ‘The Sultan of Scholars’.
