Islamic Era remains discovered in southern Iran

In the salvage exploration of ancient sites in the city of Andimeshk, Khuzestan Province, where objects speculated to be belonging to the Parthians or the Salukis had previously been identified, remains dating back to the Islamic Era were discovered in the upper deposits, IRNA reported.

Referring to the registration and documentation of the objects discovered by archeologists, the head of the salvage exploration team Yussef Dinarvand said that despite the emergency condition of the exploration, archeologists are trying to register and make documentation of the existing findings in the best possible and most accurate way, according to the Research Institute of Cultural Heritage and Tourism.

The archeologist further remarked that during the process of exploration salvage measures, including stabilization and enforcement, would be taken by the expert restorers of Khuzestan Cultural Heritage Department.
