Behnam Tajedini said in a meeting with the officials of Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) in Karachi that cold storage facilities are available in Orumieh with a total capacity of one million tons. This, he added, will benefit the Pakistani fruit and vegetables exporters to re-export their shipments via Orumieh, IRNA reported.
He further stated that West Azarbaijan produces six million tons of fruits and vegetables annually.
Also in the meeting, Senior Vice President, Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) Mazhar Ali Nasir said Iran and Pakistan have good relations but bilateral trade is far below the actual potential.
He suggested frequent exchange of trade delegations and reciprocal holding of single country exhibitions to enhance people-to-people contacts and provide opportunities to the business community of both countries to explore market for potential products especially agro products and fresh fruits.
He also called for establishing a joint working committee to resolve and sort out trade issues.
A delegation of Iranian entrepreneurs from West Azarbaijan Province's Orumieh Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture visited Pakistan to promote trade ties between the two states.
