Iran's Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said on Sunday that the newly-constructed Chabahar Port in southeast Iran provides a unique opportunity for Iran and Georgia to expand exports to regional countries.

Zarif made the remarks in a meeting with his Georgian counterpart Mikheil Janelidze on the sidelines of the 54th Munich Security Conference, IRNA wrote.

In the meeting, the two sides focused on ways to promote economic, transit and banking cooperation.

Commenting on increasing Iran-Georgia cooperation in the tourism sector, the Georgian minister voiced his country's willingness to participate in small-sized and quick-return projects.

The two ministers also discussed cooperation on developing transit corridors.
