First VP urges comprehensive plan to develop China ties

Iran's first vice-president called on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to compile a comprehensive, practical and long-term plan to develop economic relations with China.

China is an important trade partner of the Islamic Republic of Iran, added Es'haq Jahangiri in an address to a meeting on fostering trade and economic relations with China in the Iranian capital of Tehran, IRNA reported. 

He said improving trade and economic cooperation with China is among Iran's main policies, underlining the need to remove the obstacles to the expansion of economic and trade relations between the two states.

"We need to have a clear orientation and direction and a fixed framework to develop forge commercial and economic ties with China."

The meeting was attended by a number of top Iranian officials including Oil Minister Bijan Namdar Zanganeh, Governor of the Central Bank of Iran Valiollah Seif and Minister of Economic Affairs and Finance Masoud Karbasian.
