Germany eager to boost Iran trade: German official

German state of Rhineland-Pfalz is eager to boost economic relations with Iran's Alborz Province, said a German official on Monday.

Director General on Innovation Department of the Economy Ministry of the German state of Rhineland-Pfalz Joe Wingarten said that the state is eager to establish economic relations with Iran, including Alborz Province, IRNA reported.

A 12-member German trade delegation is visiting the province.

"There is much interest in boosting trade with Iran, and we try to contribute to the relations," he said during a visit to an exhibition on manufacturing, industry and service capabilities of the province.

Referring to the nuclear deal between Iran and the world major powers, he said that the deal, known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), is a good basis for cultivating future trade relations between Iran and Germany.

The delegation from the German state includes experts and representatives of companies on trade and legal consultations, home appliances, electronic systems and automation.

Rhineland-Pfalz is Iran's main German partner in industrial infrastructure exports.
